Leicester City

Leicester City Council chose Via fingerposts for their pedestrian signage scheme, which was part of the City’s three-year improvement scheme. The Council wanted to update the existing schemes with one cohesive scheme that would cover their retail, cultural and transport hubs, which include the University, the recently opened Curved Theatre and the thriving football and rugby clubs.

The Via Sign scheme comprises 120 fingerposts with an average of 8 fingers per post. The posts were manufactured from 304 stainless steel, powder coated in silver with two blue-black band around the centre of the pole to provide a unique design. The fingers are in extruded aluminium, powder coated in matt black and the text screen printed in white. Each finger was finished with an anti graffiti lacquer.

A NAL fixing system was selected with a retention socket that allows for easy maintenance.

Leicester City Council were looking for a modern and easy to read style to help pedestrians locate and navigate themselves and found that the versatility and cost effectiveness of Via met these criteria.
